L was different from most of the kids at Wammy's House. The first day he arrived, he had knocked most of the kids down, with him insisting he was "going to show the new kids how things worked around here." Even with his time in the corner as a punishment, he refused to admit that he was in the wrong and stuck to his word of it being justified.

He never played with the children. Not only would he grow frustrated if they became confused on the topic he was trying to explain, but L found their interests too simplified. So he stuck with putting together large puzzles, which turned to him playing chess with you on your breaks. Besides Watari, he really only talked with you. You seemed smart enough to him to uphold an intellectual conversation. Plus, you were good at chess. L always liked having a challenge.

Days later, he requested a computer. When he was questioned on his sudden desire for one, he replied with, "Computer-based communication is about to become much more important." So, he received one three days later. Afterwards, most of his time was spent in front of the screen, typing away with both index fingers. He quickly learned about investing in stocks, helping Watari double his fortune, as well as yours.

Unfortunately for L, the internet doesn't always stay on twenty-four seven. While it was on most days, there were times when the internet would go out during the thunderstorms. L frowned as he tried to look through information, only receiving the 'no wifi' screen. He stood up, his small knees popping from the sudden usage. He made his way through the halls, scowling as a few kids ran past him.

The door to the library creaked open, and L poked his head through the crack. A small smile graced his lips when he spotted you reading before it returned to the usual line. He walked in, grabbing a big book.

    "Good evening,"

He greeted you as he sat by your chair, taking on his usual odd sitting position.

"The internet has gone down, so reading will have to pass the time for now."
