Tsukasa had watched as Rui left, suppressing tears as he smiled and waved, watching his best friend leave to search the universe. It hurt. It hurt so much. Every happy memory was bittersweet, bringing him so, so much pain whenever he thought about them. The lemons they ate together for the fun of it, the times Tsukasa tried teaching Rui how to do his signature tricks, the nights they spent staring into the dark sky talking about the worlds out there. He knew he should be happy for Rui, but he couldn't help but be selfish, jealous that Rui had just left him, no confirmation that he'd ever come back to Tsukasa's warm arms.

Tsukasa held a lemon in his hand, the taste leaving a familiar sour taste in his eyes. It reminded him of Rui. He brought a single hand up, wiping the tears out of his eyes. Every memory hurt, tearing out his soul.
