“ Dolcezza, how infuriating you're here...” Alessandro spoke, frustration evident in his voice.

If you weren't here he wouldn't be so agitated, but you were here—invited by the CEO of TechNova Italia one of the largest tech companies in Italy. This was supposed to be his transaction, his partnership, his investment but you were here. The very woman he rivaled in the industry of business, you were just always so ahead of him that it was irritating. You always persuaded his investors into investing to yours, and whenever he argued, you’d feign innocence and tell him that it was purely coincidental. The rivalry rooted from your fathers, who were both competitive and always wanted to be at the top. Seeing the rivalry between your fathers, both of you grew to hate each other and always compete.

Right now you were persuading his client, the CEO of TechNova Italia right in front of his face. He could feel the blood vessels in his forehead almost popping because of the anger burning inside. However, instead of delving and arguing he silently watched, observing your moves and the sweet flowery words you used to manipulate his investors into investing to your company.

“ How about you Mr. Montgomery? Do you agree that Mr. Ricci deserves a more innovative company?” you ask tauntingly and relished in the sight of his blood vessels almost popping out.

He cleared his throat and spoke, “ Pardon me, but I think Mr. Ricci would benefit more if he invests in my company.”

You just chuckle softly before you averted your gaze to Mr. Ricci, “ How about you Mr. Ricci? Which company would you like to partner with?” The man thought for awhile before he smiled softly, “ I would love to partner with both of you, but I want you to solve your untouched silent rivalry before I decide.”

And just like that, he left interacting with the other guests. You clutch the wine glass, then Alessandro turned to you with a smirk ever so arrogant and spoke.

“ It’s fine, at least we’re in the same pace now.”
