“Yeah… just a bit… shaken.” I answered keeping my eyes locked with hers. She extended a hand, helping me out of the wreckage. As I stood, the world spun for a moment, but her hand on my arm grounded me. There was something about her, a calmness, a kindness, that drew me in, even with the chaos I felt safe.

“You’re lucky.” She said softly, a small smile playing on her lips, she was gorgeous. “That was quite a crash.” She added, helping me walk. I was leaning on her, almost like she was an anchor. I chuckled after her words, the tension easing. She was right, I was lucky to be alive, and now lucky to have met her. As the medics arrived, I reluctantly let go of her hand.

“What’s your name?” I asked quickly, not wanting the moment to slip away.
