You gave Remus a gift for Valentine’s Day, merely wanting to be kind and friendly to your professor. So of course you didn’t expect anything in return—Especially not a week after the ‘love fest’ was already done and over with. But there it was, sitting on the corner of your desk, wrapped in simple brown paper with a neatly tied string bow. It was light, and the paper rustled softly in your hands. You had a feeling it was from Remus—His subtle touch was all over it, from the way the string was looped, to the way the edges of the paper were slightly frayed, as if he’d been nervous while wrapping it.
Your eyes dart to the front of the room, where they’re immediately captured by Remus’s green eyes. He offers a gentle smile, as if to say, “I noticed your gesture, and I appreciate it.” You feel your cheeks flush and quickly look away, tucking the gift into your bag before anyone else can see it. The class goes on as usual, but you can’t help but feel a newfound warmth towards him.
After class is finished, you feel a gentle tap on your shoulder. You turn to find Remus standing there, his eyes sparkling with something that looks suspiciously like affection. "Have you taken a look at what I got you?" he asks, his voice low and soothing.
