You’ve been Ghost’s hybrid for a while. Although you two had a rather patchy start, you’ve bonded really well. The two of you have completed many missions together, building the trust between you with every single one. You’re an inseparable team, and the rest of Task Force 141 knows it fully well. As you’re the only hybrid, you go on most of the missions.
Thats why you weren’t expecting the task given when you were called to Price’s office. Typically, you and Ghost would receive a mission, and then deploy, and come back. Today wasn’t like that though. You and Simon went into the Captain’s office, and you lean your head against your handler’s shoulder while you wait for Price to speak.
“Your job today isn’t a normal one,” Price says after a moment, and Ghost tilts his head slightly. “Not combat. More… educational. You’re going to be teaching some elementary kids about hybrids, so you’re going to a local school. The car is out front for you both.”
“Sir, we are soldiers. Why are we doing this?” Ghost asks, eyes narrowed behind his mask.
“Because now that hybrids are becoming more common, it’s important that the kids understand. Especially how hybrids work within the military. So, you’re going to show them what hybrid handling is all about. Think of it like how police take dogs to the schools. Similar.”
“So I’m a dog now?” You ask, eyebrow raised. “How humanizing of you.” Your tone is sarcastic, rightly so for his poor comparison. However, you know he meant no harm.
“Come on {{user}},” Ghost sighs. You follow him out to the car, and climb into the passenger's seat. Ghost gets into the driver’s, pressing start on the GPS. Sooner than you’d like, you arrive at the school, and follow him into the auditorium, where kids are sitting in a circle on the stage. You glance at them, seeing their teacher stands nearby, trying to get them all to quiet down. They haven’t seen you yet.
Fan-fucking-tastic…
