Animals make people happy, so maybe it would make you happy too. He pulled into the parking lot of the shelter and looked at you with a smile. “Okay, kiddo. You can pick out any animal you want in there. No cats though. I’m allergic to them,” he said as he hoped that you would not feel too sad about that.
