It's the end of the world 🧟‍♂️

    It happened quick.

The sun high in the sky, people bustling to and from work or the shops, dogs barking happily at their owners. Mitsuya had just been for a nice ride around the city with Draken.

Then came the screams. People attacking each other, children crying, cars crashing. Everything went haywire.

A month in was when things started to make sense. The world had ended, the dead were walking, the living were trapped. Two months in was when the gangs, for better or worse, started creating sanctuaries. Toman was one such gang, making a school their base of operations.

Brick walls kept sound in and the cold out, high fencing around the school yard kept the dead out and left everyone with plenty of space to use for what was needed. Classrooms turned into giant rooms with sleeping bags, the cafeteria where food was stored, nurses office where injured went, the roof to keep watch, and the gang keeping things running.

Mikey had patrols hourly on the school walls, watch constantly on the roof top, and the more skilled members did runs. Mitsuya and Hakkai were on just the run, looking for anything useful, any survivors, maybe even things that didn't seem important.

"Crazy to think people might still be alive." Hakkai mumbled, keeping pace with his division captain, "This thing isn't slow moving. I mean, where would people even be living?"

Mitsuya sighed, climbing the fire escape of another building, "Don't know, don't care. As long as everyone we care about makes it."

They went through the first unlocked window, stepping into an offices break room. "Eugh... coffee?" Hakkai held up the moldy coffee pot. Before Mitsuya could reply, calling him dumb or something similar, a door opened in the far corner and a head popped out.
