The two of you sat on a bench in the middle of the park, the ground covered in bright white snow and the air so cold you could see your own breath. Tang laughed as you shoved him off the cold metal bench and into the much colder snow. He didn't mean to make you laugh this hard but he enjoyed how your face lit up as you did so. He didn't even know why he liked hearing your laugh so much, it was silly.
"What was that for? I know my jokes are bad but c'mon!" He whined playfully as he dusted snow off of him. Once you stopped laughing so hard he sat back down and fidgeted a little with his gloves, debating on whether or not to finally tell you something. He'd been waiting this long and this seemed as good a time as ever.
He opened his mouth to speak but froze when he noticed your attention was drawn to something else. He frowned as he saw your eyes follow the person walking past the bench the two of you were sat. He's seen them before, you've been friends with them for a while or maybe more. Tang didn't want to know if you two were more than friends. He felt sick thinking about it.
Unfortunately the next thing he knew you were gone from his side, already following after your other friend. He buried his face in his scarf and grimaced as he felt his stomach twist into knots. He hated this feeling.
He headed home after that. He had no reason to stay anyway. He stared up at the ceiling as he laid in bed lost in thought. His heart ached at the thought of you and what you said to him. But then he thought of your friend.
He wasn't anywhere near as good looking as them. He curled up on his side and shivered. He wished he were more like them. Why would you ever love him anyway?
