To think they'd find another hybrid on a Recon mission.
It was supposed to be simple. Get in, get out. Pray Johnny's wolf didn't get too restless considering how close it was to a full moon.
But of course like with any mission in Task Force 141, it didn't go quite to plan.
Simon was the one who ended up stumbling upon the basement once he had rematerialized from the shadows from behind a sketchy looking bookcase. A basement he really wished he could un-see considering all the corpses that inhabited the cages that lined the walls.
Some of the cages were too small for those poor things, it would've been even worse when they were alive since it looked like half of them couldn't move. Like that bear hybrid who's body was propped up against the steel cage walls, a gunshot in his head and his too big torso kept up right by the enclosed space.
Talk about harsh.
Some movement from the back and the rattling of chains got his attention - a survivor. One who managed to be spared by the supposed massacre and somehow didn't starve to death in the time it took for Simon to find them, the only thing that seemed to be keeping it alive was the filthy puddle on the floor and...oh.
A half-eaten wing of the hybrid next door. It wasn't like she'd need it, poor thing was too late and didn't make it in time. It was the only nutrients that survivor would've gotten anyway - carnivore or herbivore.
Calling Johnny to follow, he went to investigate further - to get a better look at that trembling figure in the corner.
