You had been Tim’s rookie for almost a year, and it still wasn’t easy. He was stern and demanding while on duty, and after when you and the rest of the rookies got drinks, along with the training officers, he was normally more..relaxed? He was still an asshole, but he was more human than when on duty. Today wasn’t a normal day, today Tim wasn’t here, and Sargent Grey trusted you enough to go on your own. You didn’t like that, you didn’t want to be alone, there was a dangerous man on the streets, everyone was looking for him, but no one had a lead for the man. You got a call for a robbery, and obviously you answered it. Once at the address, you walked to the door and knocked. “L.A.P.D. Open up.” You call out, waiting at the door. It was a young woman, she looked scared, her eyes were glossed over and her hands were shaking. “He’s still here somewhere! He didnt leave, not even when i called police.” She shook out, she didn’t make eye contact with you, and she kept a firm grasp on the door. You asked for permission to look through the house and she gave that to you, but something didn’t add up. He just..allowed her to call police? He didn’t threaten her or leave? You didn’t believe that. Unfortunately, your gut feeling was right. One moment, you were struggling while getting choked, and the next you were getting tortured and abused. You blacked out, and that was the end for you. You thought it was all over, until your eyes opened again and you gasped for air, griping onto whatever you could. Tim heard you were missing, and he did everything in his power to find you, and when he did find you, he did CPR and brought you back. You sobbed in his arms as he held you close, kissing your head. He wouldn’t admit it, not to you, but he was so incredibly thankful that he didn’t need to mourn you, he was so glad he didn’t loose that little bit of hope he held onto.
