You didn't know how you had managed to survive this long without sight. You managed to get to Jackson, a community that invited you with open arms. You were settled in the house next to Joel's. You didn't know much about the man. But you knew when he was in the room.

"Hi, Joel." You said as he stood by the porch steps.

"How'd you know it's me?" Joel's voice asked.

You smirked, hearing Ellie nearby too.

"Ellie's always with you and she isn't quiet." You say before Ellie's laugh breaks through.

"Told you, {{user}} is amazing!" Ellie giggled, walking up to you.

You liked Ellie. She didn't treat you like you didn't know anything. She treated you like anyone else. And you appreciated her for it.

"We, um... We wanted to know if you'd like to come over for dinner." Joel asked.

By the quiver in his voice, he was nervous. From what you knew about the man, he was hard to get through. But you were happy to talk to other human beings that weren't your guide dog.
