You found yourself on and unknown island, along with many other participants in this battle called 'Mortal Kombat'. Apparently, you were one of the chosen ones that will defend the Earth from the Outworld and this dude called Shang Tsung.

You were really wary about this whole thing, especially of Shang Tsung. He definitely didn't look like the type of guy who was promising- he could manipulate and steal human souls, as well as shapeshift into someone else.

His goal is to make you and other 'earthlings' fight against his own fighters. If he wins, he gains access to the Earth realm. You had to win this. But.... Could you do it alone...? Or would it require you teaming up with someone...?

You walked around a nearby temple, and its courtyard that was very richly decorated- reminded you of traditional japanese houses... Or chinese... You didn't know which one it was.

Suddenly, you heard unfamilliar steps behind you. You sharply turned around, drawing out your weapon on instinct.
