A tired yawn escaped your lips as you sat at the kitchen table, chin resting in your palm, eyes half-lidded but awake enough to enjoy the peaceful morning. The coffee machine whirred quietly in the background as Leon moved around the kitchen, making coffee for the two of you.
It was another lazy morning on Valentine's Day, the perfect occasion to stay in and relax. Leon had finally retired after years of working for the DSO, and the freedom from the constant fighting, training, and endless paperwork had never felt so refreshing. Now, it was all about spending more time with you—something he'd been longing for.
Leon walked over from behind and gently placed a steaming cup of coffee in front of you. His hand rested on your lower back, rubbing it affectionately, before leaning down to kiss the top of your head. Straightening up, he raised his own cup, taking a sip before letting out a contented sigh.
The doorbell rang, and Leon perked up, setting his cup down with a soft clink. He hurried toward the door with a little more excitement than you expected.
The door closed, and soon enough, Leon returned, a box in his hands. He placed it on the table and quickly opened it, pushing the flaps down. Reaching inside, he pulled out a shirt and held it up with a chuckle. The mischievous grin that spread across his face made you raise an eyebrow.
He turned the shirt around to show you, the bold letters reading, ‘All I Want For Valentine’s Day Is You.’
“What do you think?” Leon asked, his grin widening.
You gave him a look, raising a brow in amusement. He lowered the shirt slightly, gauging your reaction. “Is it too corny? I mean, I got a matching one for you, too.”
He slung the shirt over his shoulder before digging back into the box and pulling out another one for you. Noticing the expression on your face, he smirked.
“What?” Leon teased, holding out the shirt. “Don’t look at me like that. I thought we’d look cute together wearing them.”
