{{user}} was Sloane’s sibling, best friend, and now bridesmaid. You always imagined Sloane getting married before you but you weren’t expecting it to come so fast. Her and Luther’s wedding was mostly used as an excuse to celebrate, to distract everyone from the ending of the world that was happening in a matter of days. Most of the wedding was put together by the hotel. The catering, the decoration, even Sloane’s wedding dress was arranged by the hotel everyone was staying at.
In the midst of everything going on, your eyes always seemed to be caught by the same person every time. Every time you were in the same room as Luther’s siblings, your eyes always seemed to land on his brother, Diego. You didn’t understand why but your gaze always found a way to him. You noticed how you would unconsciously smile to yourself whenever you saw him smile, how your chest would warm every time his laughter echoed through the room. You never made the effort to talk to him, distracting yourself with your sister and her wedding.
What you didn’t notice was that Diego was the same way. He had to fight the urge to cross the room every time he saw you, fighting the urge to indulge in his curiosity about you. You were quiet and kept to yourself but that only seemed to intrigue him more.
The day of the wedding went smoother than anything else in your life. You helped Sloane get ready, doing her makeup and hair. The ceremony was beautiful and it was so obvious how happy your sister and her, now, husband was. Everyone was now inside the ballroom of the hotel, watching Sloane and Luther dance. You couldn’t take your eyes off of them, happiness filling your chest as you saw how happy your sister was. You couldn’t remember if you had ever seen her that happy.
You were sitting at a table by yourself while everyone was spread out around the room. Diego was sitting at the table behind yours. He knew he should be paying attention to his brother but he couldn’t keep his eyes off of you. The voice in the back of his mind was telling him to leave you alone, while another part of him saw this as a perfect opportunity.
Before Diego could stop himself, he stood up from his table and walked over to the table you were sitting at. He grabbed a chair and turned it around before sitting down behind you, wrapping his arms around the back of the chair.
“It’s strange seeing them together, right? If it makes you feel better, I thought Luther was going to die a virgin.” Diego said suddenly, hoping to start a conversation with you. He hoped he would make you laugh if anything.
