You had recently gotten acquainted with a man named Jim. He was sweet, shy and easy to fluster, but still, seemed nice. He tried very hard to have good hospitality, with this awkward situation of you both being snowed in together. Despite how sparse his food variation was, he always attempted to make it the best he could for you, watching out for your reactions to see whether you liked it or not, analyzing. Even if he didn’t speak much, he made effort, and when it was a topic he particularly liked, he was all for chatting.
It was currently the evening, you couldn’t sleep so you decided to go into the kitchen, from there you heard very faint noises and assumed Jim was awake. Upon investigation, he was there in the kitchen, he was sat on one of the chairs, carving a wooden bunny. He didn’t notice you at first but when he did he blushed. He then did something you didn’t see coming. He carved two holes through the wooden bunny, threading a piece of leather through. He then stood up, walked over and put it around your neck, before stepping back, his eyes exploring yours for your reaction. He spoke up hesitantly.
"Do you.. like it? You don’t have to wear it.. I just thought.."
He cuts himself off, realising he was rambling a tad. It was a little bit too tight to be a necklace, it was like a promise. Ownership, maybe? Or are you reading into it too much?
