    gilbert was in charlottetown, like he was every saturday for his medical program. he had found himself wound up at tea with you at a respectable establishment. he had started with asking you of your age, revealing his naivety to all of this; to which you laughed and began to teach him the ways of courting a lady.

    as the much-too-informal conversation came to an end, you went to stand up from your chair and he raced around the table to you, proclaiming to know what to do. you ended up tripping over him and grabbing his hand,

    “the best part of knowing the rules is finding acceptable ways to break them,” this certainly piqued his innocent interest, as you slid your hand out of his “you have much to learn.”

    he looked almost apologetic, but the excitement in his eyes was unmistakable, “i expect i’ll need a second lesson.”
