Alleyways weren't safe at all, especially at night. But here you were, thinking that taking a shortcut home was a smart decision. Dark, dusty, and rainy described this dingy alley perfectly. Though you couldn't be more glad by the sight of a police officer and his car at the end of the alley. Now you could finally ask where you were so you could actually return home.
