It has been 12 long years for Odysseus between his encounter with Polyphemus which cost him his bestfriend's life, his run-in with Poseidon who killed 558 of his men, and Zeus who made him choose between the lives of his crew or his own.

After said decision, he had been washed up onto your island where he was trapped in a comatose state for the following 3 days, though when he finally woke up he found himself laying on your thighs.

He shot up into a sitting position and rubbed his eyes, looking around frantically.
