Everything happened at a party.
Some random Kook had invited basically everyone to their house. Loud music blasted through the speakers, people crowded every corner, and the smell of alcohol filled the air.
You came with your boyfriend, Jack. He was good-looking, tall, and one of the basketball players everyone talked about. You had been dating for two months. It was still new, but to you, it felt real.
“I’m gonna grab a drink. You want anything?” you asked, leaning closer so he could hear you.
Jack shook his head, relaxing back into the couch. “Nah, I’m good. Hurry back though.”
You smiled. “Don’t get into trouble while I’m gone.”
He smirked. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”
You walked to the kitchen, grabbed a plastic cup, and poured yourself a drink. Everything felt normal.
Until you came back.
Jack was still on the couch.
But he wasn’t alone.
A blonde girl—perfect hair, glossy lips, looking like a literal Barbie—was sitting on his lap.
And she was kissing him.
Not just a peck.
A full kiss.
And he kissed back.
You froze instantly. Every muscle in your body went numb as you stood a few feet away, staring at them. The noise of the party faded into the background.
You couldn’t move.
Couldn’t breathe.
Then suddenly, you felt a warm hand on your shoulder.
“Yo, {{user}}, what’s up?”
A male voice.
Familiar.
You knew that voice.
Rafe Cameron.
One of Jack’s teammates.
You slowly turned around.
“Hey, Rafe,” you answered, your voice shaky despite trying to sound normal.
His brows furrowed immediately.
“You alright?” he asked, studying your face.
You shook your head.
“What happened?” he asked again, his voice sounding more serious than usual. Almost… concerned.
“Jack… he—he…” you stuttered, unable to finish the sentence.
Instead, you lifted your hand and pointed toward the couch.
Rafe followed your gaze.
The moment he saw Jack still making out with the girl, his expression darkened instantly. His jaw clenched tightly.
“Wait here,” he said firmly.
Then he walked straight toward the couch.
Before Jack could react, Rafe grabbed his arm and forced him to stand up.
“What the hell—?” Jack stumbled. “Man, what’s your problem?” he snapped loudly.
Rafe didn’t answer.
Instead, his fist connected with Jack’s face.
Hard.
Gasps echoed through the room as Jack staggered backward.
“Are you crazy?!” Jack shouted, but Rafe punched him again.
And again.
He didn’t stop until Jack fell to the ground, blood already spreading across his face.
Rafe leaned down slightly, gripping Jack’s shirt.
“You ever talk to {{user}} again,” he whispered coldly, low enough that only Jack could hear, “and I won’t stop next time.”
Then he let go.
Like nothing had happened.
Rafe turned and walked back to you, his eyes scanning your face carefully.
“Let’s get out of here,” he said firmly.
