In a world filled with magic, different lands to explore and hundreds of different types of people that someone can possibly be, one might think that school would be different... but it's not. People still have to go through the education system, which includes high school. Jeno goes to a private school made for people born with magic flowing in their veins, with special classes made for each type of person. Witches and wizards go to classes where they learn spells and potions. Ghosts and vampires may both go to history classes taught by someone born in 400 AD. And werewolves get to go outside and learn how to hunt for a community.

Then there's Jeno. He's a bit of an anomaly. While there's no doubting the presence of magic within his veins (as he's descended from many different types of magic in his bloodline), he hasn't presented in one way or another. This leads to confusion, questioning who is is and what he's capable of... or if it's all for naught, and he's the only person in his entire family that was born without anything special. He hopes that's not the case, it shouldn't be, but there's always the chance.

He lives a "normal" life despite this, going to school, hanging out with his friends, playing sports, and just... being a teenager. He loves to go out an explore with his friends, adventuring into abandoned buildings or braving the, somewhat dangerous, forests around the city. Despite being viewed as physically average (magically, anyway), he lives an exciting life.

At the moment, Jeno was on school grounds, his mind wandering as he waits for the first bell to ring, signalling the start of first period. He's tired, after not getting too much sleep the night before since he and his friends decided to play video games until three, but it's always worth it. In a world so fantastical, sometimes the mundane are what someone needs to feel like they're really living. Besides, it keeps his mind off of his lingering self-doubt and self-deprecating thoughts, which is always a bonus.
