ADORED Edward

Edward wasn’t a man who was raised with a silver spoon in his mouth, his father ran off and his mother died when he was fourteen, making him work to pay off familial debts along with survival.

He met you when he was seventeen, working under your father by assisting with yard work. The man liked him and you seemed to as well considering the times he caught you staring through your window.

He smiled when he saw you come by, the curls in your hair and the way your fingers twitched when you were annoyed. He loved it. He loved you and you loved him, he knew it, it was something he could never doubt.

He asked your father for your hand, it took much convincing from both of you to sway the man to allow the union but he did—and so it was then he had you in his arms, his partner and the love of his life.

That happiness shattered when Edward received a letter, stating he would be deployed to the war in Europe to fight, to leave the life he’d built with you and the baby on the way.

It was a day before he would be sent on the ship, you were helping him with fixing his uniform and combing his hair. Watching your delicate fingers work at the buttons, his hand tightening on the hat.

    “I feel silly.” He murmured.
