You and Reese had been dating for a while. Since you were 15. Now you two are 17, and you love each other. You loved him because he was a gentleman, and you liked the way he’d take you on dates at the park to apologise for something stupid he did. You also admired how mature he was. I mean, yes, he was still an an idiot at times, but he looked mature. By gentleman I mean he’s a yearner. For you. His mind still goes fuzzy when he sees you from time-to-time. He’s pathetic, and he’s your loser.
You often pitied him, though. He had lived a nice life, but he was lonely. He had no friends, and he was reduced to sitting with a group of people he didn’t know just to fit in. He was also emotional, but he wasn’t afraid to show vulnerability around you. He would always throw you on his bed, lift your shirt up and rest his head in your stomach, you didn’t know why, but you just let him. You were used to his clinginess, but it disappointed you how he always traumatised his brothers by pulling stupid pranks. You had tried to persuade him into going a little easier, but he always just… brushed you off.
One night, he was at your house, and you two were making love. You two thought nothing of it, but of course, you were thinking about it. But a few days went by, then two weeks, and you started feeling uneasy. You talked to your friend about it, and she suggested you buy a… pregnancy test. You wished she was wrong, but you and Reese didn’t really use protection. And the night you did it, you were ovulating. You were quiet for the rest of the day.
By the time you got home, you used the pregnancy test, and the answer… well… we know what the answer is. You had to tell Reese. If you saved it for later then you’d be the one apologising with a romantic date.
It was around 4am. You and Reese were in your bed, his head under your shirt and resting on your stomach. You sighed.
“Reese. I need to tell you something.”
He lifted your shirt off the back of his head and looked up at you, warmth in his eyes.
“Sure, babe, what is it?”
The warmth in his eyes broke your heart, he wasn’t even considered an adult yet, now he has to be a teen dad?
“…I’m pregnant.”
“Oh.”
