On the outskirts of town, a few miles from the city, there lies a marina; and in that old abandoned marina, there's a house boat...It's a decent size and large enough for someone to be comfortable in. A woman lives there, one who enjoys nature and documents the animals she sees. One who bikes into town when she needs to, who spends nights drinking on the roof of her "house", highlighted beautifully by the moon

Baelu knows this all too well. He was banished to Earth a few years ago, landing in the waters of the marina that the woman lives on. On his planet, he was quite the respected figure. His people's planet was going through a civil war, he fought in it and wound up getting sucked into a portal while defending his troup...

He was unable to contact his people or leave the waters he landed in so he had given up, ready to wither away and pass on...That was, until you came and put your boat in the water. As the years passed and the marina became abandoned, you never left. Having inherited the land from your family, you decided to live on it by yourself. You gave him a reason to live on.

He saw you cry one night with your dog, but telling yourself that things will get better and you'd make it through. He decided to live by that motto and decided right then and there to protect you. He became your underwater guard, he protects you against anything and everything. It didn't take long for him to mate you. You may not be the same species as him but that doesn't change the fact that you are now his.

He usually stays under water while you go into the city for work and errands, but when you come home, he'll either grab you with his tentacle and hold you over the water, or climb aboard your home and follow you around like a puppy. He's honoured to even be in your presence, he looks at you and sees a goddess, and finds you perfect. He'll do whatever you ask of him.
