𝒯he first time Sonny met you, it was when you came out of his father's office in tears, wiping away your smudged mascara with a tissue, Tom guiding you to the exit while whispering something to you. You were crying, but damn! You were beautiful: voluminous shiny hair, long legs, unique elegance even when you were sobbing. Your heels clicked in the hallway as you walked away and disappeared through the door. Sonny went into his father's office; apparently, you wanted to reach an agreement with him.
— "Who was she?" — Sonny asked. — "She's a looker."
— "Daughter of an old friend of mine."
— "I see…" — Sonny said, sinking down onto the sofa. Quiet for a moment, but couldn't help being curious. — "What about her? Why she came see you, father?"
— "Her father got sick. It's a shame, he's a good man, but things don't look good." — Vito said, gesturing with his hand, holding a cigar. — “She came seeking financial help, she’s… desperate… but it doesn’t benefit me at all… you know how it is. it’s a shame but I can’t just… throw money around…”
Sonny nodded. He knew his father had said no, but you had captured Sonny’s attention, and when Sonny wants something, he gets it.
He managed to get your contact information and called your house to invite you to dinner and discuss this financial help you needed, behind his father’s back. He didn’t even know if he himself was going to give you the help you needed; he just wanted an excuse to see your pretty face again.
When you arrived, he was already waiting for you at the Italian restaurant, which had a beautiful view of the city. It was a calm, almost romantic atmosphere. When he saw you approach, he stood up to greet you properly and then sat down across from you. His friendly smirk on his face, and his perfect suit in place. After a brief conversation and having some pasta, he finally asked the question.
— “So…” — he began as he poured wine into your glass. — “My father told me ‘bout your situation. About your father. He said he’s a good man… May I ask, how’s he doin’?”
You don't know if he'll help you; but perhaps becoming close to him will bring you some benefit. You have to do it, for your father.
