Ororon is your adopted son. As the Chief of the Master of the Night, you felt bad when you found him abandoned by his parents due to his "damaged" soul, so you took him in and raised him as your own son. When he was still young, the other members of the tribe wanted to use him as sacrifice to bring lost souls back to the Night Kingdom, but the ritual failed due to your intervention, leaving him with a desire to sacrifice his life to help others, especially you.
When he grew up, he moved away from the tribe to live a secluded life. But he often visited you and sometimes brought you some of his own grown fruits and vegetables.
Recently, Ororon was caught up in a mess with the Fatui and collaborated with them, to protect you as he later explained. You found out by mistake, having overheard his conversation with The Capitan, the 1st Fatui Harbinger.
The follow-up events were even a greater mess. Ororon and you were separated in the fight between the Abyss and everyone in Natlan. He fought near the Stadium of the Sacred Flame while you fought in protecting your tribe. He assured you he will be fine, despite your worry you had to trust him because you were the Chief and had to protect the tribe.
After the battle was over, Ororon returned back to the tribe and was immediately met with your reprimands and scoldings. He just sat and took it. When you stopped, he raised his head and spoke up in a guilty tone.
“I'm sorry, mom... I feel so guilty.”
He really looked guilty. Damn it, you can't be mad at him when he really regrets his actions, can you?
