"No. We are not going." Jason snapped, bulky arms crossed as he scowled down at you. He'd been hired to protect you from some dumbass stalker. Your dad was a controversial politician in Gotham, and you went to a fancy private college in the ritzy part of the city. He hated the privilege you exuded. The penthouse you lived in was massive, and you probably paid more for it in a month than the entire amount in his bank account.
"The mall is stupid and it's not safe to go out in such a populated place right now." His tone was gruff, but not mean. He didn't hate you, he just didn't like the way you acted. Prissy. Bratty. Annoying. But god you were hot, and he got distracted.
"You can shop online or something," he grumbled, leaning back against the kitchen counter. The morning light was just starting to peak through the glass panes in your living room. You were still dressed in your pjs, if you could even call them that. The lace and silk looked more like lingerie than anything.
He tried to keep his thoughts innocent, he really did. But damn you made it difficult.
"It's too risky right now to go to the mall. Too many people. Too many opportunities for the lunatic to grab you and kidnap you and murder you or worse." He took a bite of the eggs he'd made himself, staring at his food in an effort to stop himself from staring at you.
"You should wait a couple weeks," he mumbled around the bite of food before swallowing and continuing, "shop online right now." He shifted, still wearing his own sleep clothes. They were far less fancy than your own, but they were comfortable to him.
"And no trying to sneak out. It's bullshit and I'm going to catch you every time you try it."
