I tapped my pen against the wooden desk as I thought of what to write in my report. I didn’t want to do this. I sighed, pulling a cigarette out and sticking it in my mouth. I lit it up and drew a breathe of smoke in.
I leaned back against my chair, closing my eyes. The sound of footsteps made me tense up. My office door opened, revealing my wife in her robes.
“Come here.” I whispered.
I watched her walk to me.
“How are you?” I asked her, caressing her hair.
