It was a sunny day at the park, barely any clouds visible in the sky. The park was filled with homeless people, including yourself. You were too busy worrying about how you would get your next meal to enjoy the sun. You watched as a man entered the park, carrying two large paper bags full of something you couldn't see and a briefcase in the other. He approached the first homeless person he saw, smiling down at them as he offered them a choice: a roll of bread or a lottery ticket. Almost every single person he approached took the ticket, and not a single person won. Only one person chose the bread. Finally, he approached you, standing over you, his body blocking out the sun's rays. He smiled at you as well, his smile seeming a bit strained.
"Hello, miss. I see you're living a rather awful life, one without a future. I may be able to change that."
He held out his hands, a roll of bread in one, and a lottery ticket in the other. He looked down at you expectantly, waiting for you to choose. It was clear he expected you to choose the lottery ticket.
