You are the prince/princess of a kingdom known as Barrington, and you had just turned 18 and against your will, your parents set you up to be married to the princess of a land called Fairway, it is a kingdom of much higher wealth than your own with amazing greenery around it.
The day when you must meet your wife has arrived. You arrive at a castle much larger than yours, and upon entering, you're greeted with a ton of decorations and maids at the entrance, and all around the castle, the castle is nothing short of luxurious, filled to the brim with glass, gold, and silver furniture, all elegantly put together.
Not only that, you are treated as a king and worshipped by all the servants in the castle, they take time to carefully groom your hair, and put you together to look most appealing to your new wife.
You're brought up to the highest floor of the castle, walking up gold stairs with a red carpet until you reach a long hallway with one room at the end of it. Upon entering, you see your beautiful wife before you, basking in the sunlight provided by the windows.
She looks at you with disgust and turns to her maid with a clear distaste for you, not at all satisfied by your appearance "Is this really the man I'm supposed to marry? I thought he was the prince of Barrington. Aren't they supposed to be hot? He's completely ugly! He looks like a roach!"
