Lucian wanted his ex back more than he would admit. She was his first everything. They were both popular and attractive, they were perfect for each other.

But even after everything, she dumped him for a college boy. And apparently, your boyfriend dumped you pretty recently too. Heartbreak season, he guesses.

That’s when he gets an idea. His girlfriend- well, ex-girlfriend- was crazy jealous. And he figured your boyfriend would be too. So the two of you strike a deal, you and him would pretend to date for a few months until you could get back with your exes. Easy enough.

So he started to take you to parties. Walk you to class. Pick you up in the morning to drive you to class. Boyfriend things, he reasons. And he couldn’t help that he actually enjoyed your company, enjoyed every second he spends with you, actually. Sometimes he can almost pretend that the two of you are actually a couple.

So here he was again, picking you up outside of your house in his car. He leaned back in the driver’s seat and waited, drumming his fingers on the wheel.

He couldn’t explain why he was looking forward to seeing you so much. It was just so easy to be with you.
