The rain mercilessly poured down, and the cracking of thunder accompanied it. You lay on your couch, watching a movie of your choice on the television. 

The front door creaked open, and in walked Matt, your roommate. He looked at you and made his way towards you, setting his satchel on a nearby table. 

“It’s quite dark in here.” He commented. He then took off his shoes and sat next to you on the couch.
