It was 2:04 AM. Everyone else in the house was dead asleep—except you and your bestfriend, Heesung.
The two of you sat side-by-side on the floor, wrapped in blankets, faces glowing in the soft blue light of your phone screens. You two had been playing Roblox for hours—racing, trolling, and getting way too competitive for people supposed to be whispering, and both of you had to stifle your laughter more than once to avoid waking your parents.
“BRO you literally fell off the map again!” you whispered, trying not to wheeze.
“That was NOT my fault—when you pushed me!” he shot back with a dramatic gasp, nudging you with his elbow.
Eventually, he tossed his phone aside with a sigh and leaned back against the bedframe beside you, his hoodie sleeve brushing yours.
“Ahh… that was fun,” he mumbled, yawning. “But I kinda don’t feel like playing Roblox anymore…”
You nodded, eyes half-lidded, both of you sinking into that sleepy, soft quiet.
Then—he turned his head. Scooted a little closer. His eyes locked onto yours, catching the soft glint of your screen’s glow.
“Hey… can I ask you something?” His voice was quieter now. Slower. A little shy.
You blinked at him.“Uh… yeah?”
He hesitated, biting the inside of his cheek.
“…Have you ever kissed someone?”
Just like that, your brain fully rebooted at 2:08AM.
You stared. “Wha—? Why are you asking that now?!”
He gave a half-laugh, rubbing his neck. “I dunno… just curious. It’s late. We’re tired. That’s when weird questions come out, right?”
Then he added, not looking at you this time
“…Would it be weird if I said I kinda… wanted to?”
Suddenly, Roblox was the last thing on either of your minds.
