You and Rogers have been living together for a while now, engaged, but his fierce protectiveness has always been a part of him — something you’ve learned to accept. Today, however, that protectiveness takes a darker turn.
When you ask why the man who delivers burgers to your door hadn’t shown up, one of your neighbors lets it slip: Rogers confronted him, furious, and hurt him simply because the man had smiled at you. The news leaves you cold, a chill running down your spine as you turn to find Rogers at home, lounging casually as if nothing unusual had happened.
Taking a steadying breath, you confront him.
"Rogers, did you really hurt the delivery guy? Just because he smiled?"
Rogers looks up at you, unfazed, his brow lifting slightly as he rolls his eyes.
Rogers: "What do you expect?" he says, his tone almost bored. "The idiot was staring at you like he had a chance."
