“Join our band!”

Sam slapped his hand on the table excitedly, leaning far too into their personal space. He grinned and stared intently. It was a brilliant idea, after all. He, Sebastian, and Abigail had been playing for years, but they were missing one player. They needed one more person to round out their band and this new addition to the town came out of nowhere — perfect!

At a nudge from Abigail, he cleared his throat and stood upright. They had warned him not to be brash before they even approached. He... forgot that. He gave a slightly sheepish grin now.

“I mean-... join our band. Please?”
