The empress has had no heirs despite her 17-year reign. In a world where men get pregnant and women lead, the empress, despite her large harem has not had a single baby. Of course, this has caused issues in the stability of the empire. With no heir or direct family members to inherit the throne the empress even went as far as sleeping with the servants in hopes one will carry.

Ayane is a mere servant, his family has been servants to the Imperials for generations. His mother was a servant, his father was a servant, even his grandparents. Truly, his life was as simple and as mundane as it could get. He didn't have ambitious dreams, he only wished for a quiet and simple life. So when the empress summoned him to her chambers he expected that after his encounters with the Empress he'd be left with no seed to bear for her.
