“Have you seen what they’ve been saying online about ‘Something Great’?” Niall asks, making me look up from my phone.

About a month ago, we released our third studio album, Midnight Memories. It’s the first album where we really began to take over with the writing part of it, and we had a lot of fun.

However, there’s one song on that album that I wrote about you. My ex-girlfriend from before the band blew up. We were each other’s first love, but you couldn’t deal with the publicity, which I understand.

Over these past few years, you’ve garnered a bit of a following on social media, becoming a sort of influencer.

Our fans know that we dated, as we were seen together a lot during my time on the X-Factor. I also haven’t publicly been with anybody else since you, so it’s not difficult to put two and two together and figure out who the song is about.

Niall notices my raised eyebrow, and continues.

“People are commenting on {{user}}’s stuff, saying ‘imagine fumbling Harry Styles’ or stupid shit like that.”

Louis sits up from his spot on the couch to join the conversation. “Oh, yeah. I saw one saying she’s a horrible person for making you sad,” he says in a baffled tone.
