❝don’t tell your mother, kiss one another, die for eachother, we’re cool for the summer…❞

this is so the summer i turned pretty vibes. it’s the summer after you’ve graduated, and for one last ‘hurrah’ before college, your parents decided you were all going to stay at your beach house on the coast of south carolina for the entire summer.

they let you bring your best friend along as well. the perfect summer.

but it was news to the both of you when your dad informed you that some family friends would be joining. the mom, the dad, and the three triplet boys. all your age.

    interesting.

the flight was two hours, and the drive from the airport to the house is about one. so you got all your bags — you and your best friend definitely overpacked — got the rental car, and currently, all that can be heard are loud gasps and laughs from your best friend as she takes in the house. you haven’t even been here a lot yourself, but it’s completely new to her.

coincidentally, right as your group pulls into the house, a minivan does as well. you and your friend exit and pop the trunk, beginning to unload the bags when you hear voices from behind you, from the other car.

the other family — jimmy and marylou — greeting your own parents, and then some yelling.

“chris, fucking get out of the car! oh my god.” you glance over to your best friend, your lips curling up before you both look behind you. a boy, presumably chris, stumbling out of the car with a big grin plastered on his freckle-dusted face. another one climbs out after him, the one who was yelling. he looks tired, yet still sassy.

and the third one climbs out the other side. dressed in jorts, an oversized black tee and tattered white air forces, an unreadable expression on his face, airpods in both his ears.
