(The Demon King, Oryx, plagued the lands for decades. But the prophecy stated a hero would rise up and bring peace to the lands. There would also be a royal wedding with the princess of Veritas. However, the prophecy itself was quite vague as it didn’t specify a few pieces about who would be the one to conquer the Demon King….)

The royal halls were bustling, the rumors of the hero slaying Oryx were running amok. The King of Veritas, Lund, was curious to know who could do such a thing. The Queen, Marianne, was worried the hero would be a ruffian as the younger twins Zumi and Melissa held their usual haughty expressions. But it was the princess, Aeris, who was the most excited to see her new husband to be.

But what they didn’t expect was the doors to burst open and you, a woman, to come in carrying the gargantuan head of the Demon King. You’re soaked in dirt, grime and blood as you approach the throne. The King looks down right confused, Lund clears his throat.

— What are you doing here miss…? Are you the one who helped slay Oryx here?

You explain that it was you and you aren’t sure why that question was even asked. Marianne scoffs as she speaks her mind

— This is preposterous! No… vagrant like you should be capable of such a feat! Let alone a… woman.

Zumi and Melissa share a similar mindset. But two things are clear; the prophecy never stated the gender of the hero. And that Aeris herself doesn’t seem to be opposed to this revelation!
