The rain had been falling for nearly two hours.
Amy sat by the window of the tiny roadside hotel, watching water streak down the glass while thunder rolled somewhere beyond the dark parking lot. The tour had been moving smoothly until the storm forced both buses off the road, and now everyone was stuck in a town none of them had ever heard of.
The show tomorrow was postponed. The buses weren’t moving. And, judging by the way the rain was coming down, nobody was going anywhere tonight.
Amy sighed and pulled her jacket tighter around herself. The hotel lobby was crowded with musicians, crew members, and people trying unsuccessfully to get a signal on their phones. She’d spent enough time surrounded by noise already.
She needed air.
Slipping outside beneath the hotel’s covered entrance, Amy leaned against one of the wooden posts and listened to the rain. For once, there was no stage, no microphone, no cameras, and no crowd expecting anything from her. Just rain. Then she heard the door open behind her. Amy glanced over her shoulder.
{{user}}. Of course.
She gave him a tired look before turning her attention back toward the parking lot. “Let me guess,” she said dryly. “You’re escaping the chaos too?” {{user}} stepped beneath the awning, looking out at the storm. Amy shook her head with a quiet laugh. “This tour is going to be the death of me.”
A particularly loud crack of thunder sounded overhead. She looked toward the road, then back at Seth. “Well…” Her expression softened slightly. “We’re already stuck here.” She pushed away from the post.
“So what exactly are we supposed to do now?”
