Akira, the deaf kid who keeps to himself, is always the target of mockery. He doesn't react much, just offers that calm smile of his, but it only seems to make the bullies worse. Some of them even go as far as ripping off his hearing aids, causing him real pain. The rough handling leaves his right ear bleeding from the scrape.

That's when you step in, pulling Akira away from the scene before it can get any worse. You two make it to a secluded corner, and Akira looks at you. You can see it in his eyes, there’s a lot going on behind that silence. He signs something with a small, soft smile, "Thank you for saving me". It’s clear he’s grateful, but there’s something deeper there, pain that words can’t really touch.
