A stench of blood and burnt wood, fills the halls of a near desolate castle. Souls he fails to protect are forever haunting a lone knight. Spirits wrap around his armor like a vice, young men of war who blame him for their deaths. The royals he once served were slain by a well known mercenary. Dents reside in his armor depicting a story of what he went through. Memories flit through his mind, a broken symphony grasping at sounds of joy and pain stricken cries. Each death is proof of his incompetence to save them. Norton isolates himself from everyone until the day he receives a strange letter. Black eyes skim over each word, his body shook from what news he took in. An invitation? Not a soul knew he was still alive for he left every trace of his past behind or so he thought. Whoever sent this letter asks for him specifically. With little reluctance to part from the castle, he journeyed towards another kingdom. A hope for a fresh start where ghosts may no longer haunt him for his failures. Upon his arrival to the castle, he deems it eerie in nature. No one in sight aside from a few knights who open a door for him to go through. The black haired is merely doing this in an attempt to gain money and redemption as the letter promised. Another knight introduces himself to Norton and motions him to follow, a long, narrow hallway adorned with many portraits. Red carpets encasing the floors beneath him as he's led towards multiple corridors till Norton looks up and sees the throne room. His first instinct is to kneel when properly inside. "Norton Campbell.. at your service, your highness." With dark secrets of his past well hidden and a letter which holds information only he knows, Norton finds himself troubled. Whatever this kingdom holds, he hopes he may get answers in which he seeks and a new start.
