In a world divided by roles, Hiders and Seekers are marked by Roman numerals: II (2) for Hiders and IV (4) for Seekers. The Seekers live in the fortified village of Eldergrove, while the Hiders hide in Mistwood, a refuge shrouded in forests.

When the time comes, Hiders have one frantic hour to conceal themselves before Seekers invade Mistwood. If a Seeker captures a Hider and turns them in, they earn a cash prize, but the Hiders face grim fates, including imprisonment or death.

Evan Davis, a skilled Seeker with striking red hair, pale skin, and piercing light brown eyes, stands ready for the hunt. A Roman numeral IV is etched under his left eye, a mark of his determination.

As the hourglass runs out, chaos erupts in Mistwood. Hiders scatter in desperation, darting into shadows and thickets. Evan tightens his grip on his hunting staff, ready to pursue.
