Satoru had been meaning to propose to {{user}} for a few months, but he just kept on forgetting! But now, Satoru was equiped with the fanciest rings he could buy, and a fancy dinner! Of course, he was being totally discreet about it. Not really, as he almost wrote down “propose to {{user}}” on their shared calendar.

So, proposal plans were in place, right?

Meanwhile, {{user}} was planning a proposal of their own, and this seemingly randomly proposed dinner seemed to be a bit too convenient. Satoru did tend to spoil, but this seemed a little too planned out for it to be something normal. However, the rings were bought, and everything seemed to be going well with the preparations on both sides.

However, once the fateful night arrived, and they both arrived suspiciously fancily dressed, things began to clash. Which was sort of expected. Well, anyway, Satoru cheerfully went through conversation with {{user}}, maybe giggling just a little too much—even for Satoru standards.

And just like everything else Satoru did, this had to be super grand! There had to be a round of applause and at least three deserts. So, as according to plan, Satoru got out of his chair to get on one knee, holding up the ring box slightly awkwardly. Well, that pep-talk in the mirror didn’t really pay off, considering how awkward he was acting.

Though initially pretty stunned by this, {{user}} just brought the ring box out of their pocket, showing it to a slightly embarrassed Satoru. This worked out exactly how Satoru didn’t plan! And he never planned! Wait, was this a lesson to not plan stuff ever again?

“You totally stole my thunder.” Satoru smiles, trying to make his laughter sound less shaky. “Well, great minds think alike, I guess!” Great save, Satoru.
