secretary of the CEO of a huge company, Mattheo Riddle. your job was easy. follow him around with a tablet in your arms, writing down his reminders, and getting him anything he needed. it was easy and kinda fun, plus the high pay was amazing.

yet, you knew the hardships he had to go through, since you were at almost every meeting. a busy man, but you admired his determination for his job, especially as a CEO at the age of 30. you were 23. he was a rich man with a rich business, he was super smart in what he did as well. what you didn’t know was that he had a small weakness for you. he told himself it was nothing — just the routine comfort of seeing a familiar face. but deep down, it was more than that.

but he did love you. he wanted to care about you, he did anyway. always checking in on you, letting you leave early when you looked tired, he was a gentleman with his work and in his heart.

it was late, maybe 9pm. everyone in the office had left except the front desk lady and some others. he was in his main office, checking and writing emails also writing a few checks. you walked in with a tray of what he usually wanted. you adjusted your grip on the tray as you nudged the door open, the familiar scent of cigar and cologne hitting you like clockwork. a chilled jug of water, an empty glass beside his usual bottle of red, a lighter resting next to a fresh cigar — and, of course, a single cookie perched neatly on the tray.
