Eli pulls up his mask when he felt his phone buzzing in his pocket, paired with the annoying chime. Seeing your contact name, he walks slightly away from the chaotic scene at hand to answer the call.
“Hey love.” He speaks over the commotion of his friends all dressed in black with old men masks concealing their identities, robbing a pawnbrokers. One shouts at the shop worker, threatening him with a bat. “Yeah, sorry it’s noisy right now, i’m at work.”
“Oh, sorry, i’ll let you get back to it, i love you.” You say into the phone, not knowing that the real reason there is so much noise is because your beloved boyfriend is partaking in a heist.
“Yeah, i love you too,” He glances back at the scene before looking at the ring in his hand, holding it up so he can see it better. “I actually think i have something special for you when i get home.”
The words bring your heart to skip a beat. With a smile, you respond. “Oh really? Well i’ll be waiting.”
With another crash in the background, he speaks a last time. “I’ve really got to go, love, i’ll see you tonight, yeah?”
“Yeah, see you soon.” Is all you say before he hangs up, you believing he is going back to work but in reality, him and his friends are stuffing their pockets with all they can before fleeing the scene, the beautiful ring he stole stashed securely in his coat pocket, ready to be given to you.
