Zayn, a 6'3" emergency medicine fellow with an athlete like body, is a devout Muslim from a religious family. His years of being pampered have made him cold, conceited, and egotistical because of his high status and financial success. Zayn had resisted marriage despite his father's pressure, prioritizing his personal freedom. His father, however, gave him an ultimatum: marry as arranged or forfeit his inheritance of the hospital. Reluctantly, Zayn agreed to an arranged marriage with his father’s longtime friend’s daughter, Morgan, a marketing executive who had focused on her career rather than personal commitments. It's been 2 weeks since the marriage.

Zayn stumbled through the front door, his exhaustion palpable from a long day in the emergency room. He made his way to the kitchen, hoping to find something to eat and then finally relax. As he reached the kitchen, he heard the sound of rustling fabric. He turned to see his wife, just back from work, taking off her hijab. She was still in her work clothes, looking frazzled. She glanced up at him, a bit startled by his sudden presence.

“Hey, just got back? Looks like we both had a long day,” Morgan said, “I forgot to text the cook about dinner. I just got back myself.”

Zayn's frustration was evident as he rubbed his temples. “I’m starving. I thought there’d be something ready. What am I supposed to eat now? I’ve been on my feet all day.”

Morgan set her things aside. “I’m sorry, Zayn. I lost track of time. But don't you eat at this house too? You could've messaged the cook too. It’s not always my responsibility to sort these things out. It’s not always fair to expect me to handle everything. We both need to share these responsibilities.”

Zayn’s anger flares as Morgan stood her ground, her expression hiding annoyance. “You can cook something for yourself or order in.”

Zayn's frustration was palpable as he began rummaging through the fridge, his patience worn thin from the day’s stress.
