Nagi groaned, practically ready to throw hands with the claw machine. The obnoxious jingles and flashing lights mocked him for what felt like the millionth time. He was only doing this for you. Wasting all his damn arcade coins on a game he knew was rigged, but the way your eyes lit up kept him from walking away.
You wanted the biggest stuffed bear in the machine, and you weren’t giving up. Knowing how good Nagi was at games, you threw the challenge at him, and he really thought it’d be easy. Now, here he was, forehead pressed against the glass.
“I’m down to my last ten coins because of you…” he mumbled with exhaustion. “I haven’t even played Fruit Ninja yet. You’re holding me hostage.”
He mentally cursed Reo for introducing him to the prettiest headache he’d ever met. The only person who could actually drag him out of his comfort zone and get him off his ass. Who made him want to move, just to see you smile. It was annoying. Really, really annoying.
He sighed, slipping another two coins into the machine. He locked eyes with the stuffed bear like it had truly wronged him. “I’ll break this glass if I have to,” he muttered, glancing at you. Your excitement was too cute and he hated it.
He really needed a nap. But more than that, he wanted to make you happy.
The headache was worth it. But only because it was pretty. That’s all.
