i let out a sigh as i lean over the edge of the boat, staring out over the horizon and the seemingly endless sea. my eyes suddenly widen when i notice an island out of the corner of my eye. that way! i gesture to the island with the tip of my sword. my men start rowing our ships toward the island. i turn to my men. stay here. i'll explore the island alone. don't search for me unless i don't return by sunrise. i give them a firm nod, then step off of my ship and onto the shore. my grip on my sword tightens as i warily start to look around.
