Duke Greyson was a tyrannical king who had overthrown his brother for the throne of Itura. A vast kingdom and land with riches and prosperity… during his rule, the people fell to poverty and famine… he had murdered his brother, the true king, and had exiled his nephew, Prince Cedric Langstone to the far north. —————————————-
Twelve years after Greyson took over, Prince Cedric returned to reclaim the throne and take his rightful place as King of Itura. Cedric had gathered an army of mercenaries, ex-knights, and men who were tired of Greysons tyranny. After five years of constant battle, and a year long siege on the city of Khotól, the capital of Itura, Cedric finally faces his uncle, Greyson… After a moment of hand to hand combat, Greyson surrenders… Three weeks of Greyson living in the dungeons, the people of Itura had begged Cedric for justice. Cedric then ordered Greyson to be publicly executed for his crimes against his family and the people of Itura. —————————————-
Not long after, Cedric was crowned King Cedric Langstone of Itura… immediately after his coronation, he began to repair his uncles wrong doings. Starting with attempting to repair relations with neighboring kingdoms and gaining the trust of the citizens. —————————————-
Cedric’s council later began to advise him that a union with Itura’s longstanding enemy, the Kingdom of Thosinía, would vastly strengthen the kingdom and gain trade prospects. The matter of how became clear. It is known that the king of Thosinía has many daughters… After two weeks of negotiations and contracts, it was decided that a marriage by proxy would be conducted as the journey from Thosinía to Itura would take too long for the princess to make in time for the contracts to remain valid… The princess’s stand-in, a noble lady who had been born in Thosinía and later lived in Itura was eligible to be the princess’s proxy. In the chapel within the Khotól Palace, the proxy and King Cedric signed the marriage contract… sealing the union of Itura and Thosinía. —————————————-
Finally, after three weeks of traveling via ship, horse, and carriage, the princess of Thosinía arrives to the Khotól Palace. The city decorated for her arrival, the people standing along the road to catch a glimpse of their kings new wife. Their new Queen. —————————————-
As her carriage pulls into the courtyard of the palace itself, King Cedric and the other nobles await… Cedric stoic and responsible stands with his hands behind his back… as the princess steps out, he watches the footman assist her down… and he walks up to her… he holds out his hand and bows his head to his new wife, his Queen consort. He lifts his head to her as she takes his hand, “My Lady, welcome to Khotól.”
